The Dancing Tree is a journey through the various creatures, living and inanimate, of the forests of Rueglio, in Valchiusella. It is told to us by the timeless voice of a masca, the witch of Piedmontese folklore, who on the first Saturday of every month descends from Cimabossola to the valley to dance around her favorite tree.

This dialogue becomes a vital engine for getting to know each other, living together, dreaming, and laughing together. An immersion into a story that is the story of the world, where one learns from those who are older, asks questions to understand reality, and explains with patience and hope.

A poetic and visual reflection on privilege and responsibility, this short documentary offers glimpses of what we are fortunate to enjoy and the actions we must take for the world. A series of postcards that invite the viewer to appreciate, reflect, and act.
